Hello! I have been teaching for five years in a multitude of settings. I have taught Ancient World History to 9th grade IB prep students, and World History, Ancient World History, US History, Geography, and Government to 6th-10th grade students in inner city schools, and suburban schools. I taught English conversation in Thailand for a year, and trained adults to be English Language teachers at a TEFL training institute. This year, I am teaching Chemistry, Life Science, and Earth Science in an inner city school.
I believe that learning has many parts--the initial sharing of information, the application and use of that information, expanding on that information, and lastly, review. My lessons reflect this in that they are either geared for giving information, helping students use that information creatively, building on prior knowledge, or review. I usually focus on using the information because I believe this truly helps students to synthesize. I like to do this with games, art, and out of the box ideas!

I majored in Social Studies and minored in Education and Political Science. I studied abroad for one semester in Spain, and I studied sign language for one year in a community college.
I travel. A lot. Many of my resources will often include pictures from these trips.
