I now teach as a High School English Language Arts Teacher at Penta Career Center in Perrysburg, Ohio! Here, we are not assigned to one grade level. We teach 10th, 11th, and 12th grade with all different schedules every semester! This semester, I am teaching 10th grade co-taught, regular 10th grade, and 11th grade. Next semester, I am teaching regular 10th grade, co-taught 12th grades and regular 12th grade!
I am a teacher who LOVES mixing it up. I am not a read an audiobook and complete a worksheet kind of teacher. I love project-based learning, escape rooms, learning stations, interactive media projects, active reading, integrating Pixar Shorts and even picture books to analyze more complex literary terms, mock trials, research projects, presentations, class competitions, and more!
I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Bowling Green State University and was lucky enough to win several scholarships and awards through leadership positions I held in educational organizations and my sorority, Kappa Delta.
I am originally from Stow, Ohio, a suburb of Akron, Ohio, where I attended Stow-Munroe Falls High School and split my junior and senior year here with The Six-District Career Tech Program where I was in the Teaching Professions Program. This gave me two additional years of lesson plan ideas, field experiences, collaboration with other future teachers, and creation of an IPDP and educational portfolio. I then attended Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio and graduated with a Bachelor's in Science in Education for Adolescent Young Adult Education with a specialization in Integrated Language Arts.
