I have six years of teaching experience, focusing in grades 4th & 5th. I have taught Reading, Language Arts, Social Studies, Science, and Religion.
The children in my classroom are people first and students second. They have individual ideas, goals, talents, and abilities. I strive to make my classroom a place where all of those traits are celebrated and grown. Some students prefer to write, some students prefer to draw. Some students need quiet, others thrive on noise. Some students excel on the field or court and some students excel in the classroom. Some students fly through chapter books, others are still uncertain of reading. Regardless of what outside and previous factors a student brings to my classroom, they bring value. They bring ideas. They bring questions. They bring friendship. They bring a piece of our community.
