TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am a Speech-Language Pathologist with four years working in a public school district in Texas. I also worked three years for a home health company, and one year for an outpatient private practice. Working in these different settings has given me many different perspectives on the needs of different therapists. Throughout my career my one true love has been working with young children with autism. I especially love my little friends who are non-verbal, as I find they are continuously challenging my professional growth. The majority of the products in my store were created specifically for my non-verbal friends.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I like to start my lessons with a hands on activity or game to intrigue my students. I try to devise activities that will benefit each member of my group (which can be VERY challenging when I work with my friends in PPCD!). I also love to teach using books and book companions to enhance language comprehension.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I was chosen to be a presenter at the annual Texas Speech-Language Hearing Association (TSHA) in 2016 and 2017 in the category of AAC.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I obtained my undergraduate degree from Harding University and my masters degree from the University of Texas at Dallas.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

My husband and son are the most precious gifts I have been given. My dream is to one day be able to stay home with my little boy to watch him grow and learn each day. I am still new to the world of TPT so please be patient with me as I continue to improve my store and my products!
