TEACHING EXPERIENCE

After working in and around classrooms for years as a behavioral therapist, I taught for one year as a K-6 Learning Support teacher and for one year as an Autism Support teacher before taking time off to raise my own kiddos. I have been substitute teaching K-12 regular and special education for the last several years, and I look forward to teaching in my own classroom again someday! Right now, I spend my days home with my youngest, who is almost two years old. My other children are 11 and 15. We just finished picking and preserving the final vegetables from our garden and making applesauce for the winter. This year, I learned how to sew and am attempting to make handmade gifts for our extended family for Christmas. Wish me luck!! I have to say that I'm very inexperienced in the TpT world, although everyone has been very kind and helpful (which is much appreciated). I just started my little store in the beginning of November 2014, so I'm still asking questions and looking around at others' stores. To buyers or potential buyers - please, please let me know if you have trouble opening a file, find a mistake, would like to make a request, etc. I'd be happy to oblige! Thanks to everyone, and thank you for visiting my humble "homestead."

MY TEACHING STYLE

I strongly favor small group work and project based learning, but I am open to all different kinds of teaching styles. I'll try any style that helps students to learn!

I have a Master's Degree from Duquesne University in Education, and I was working on a degree in Special Education when I left teaching.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I recently posted two banners and would like to give credit to the artists whose work I used. Both banners were created by me using commercial art and graphics. I gratefully used fonts by Jen Jones at Hello Literacy - http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Store/Hello-Literacy, www.jenjones.com. The background and graphics for the small banner are from Krista Wallden at http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Store/Krista-Wallden. The background for the longer banner came from The 3AM Teacher, © 2013 The 3AM Teacher http://the3amteacher.blogspot.com/. The owl graphic is from Helen Ziga at Craftygraphics, http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Store/Helen-Ziga. Thank you to all!
