I've been teaching for nineteen years. My teaching career began at a private school, but most of my teaching has been at a public middle school. I've been teaching honors classes for the past nine years.
I believe that teachers are facilitators for student learning. My teaching methods are based on student-centered activities that make learning more meaningful to my students. I develop lessons and activities that promote the important skills of critical thinking and problem-solving. I encourage students to question things as this leads to more thoughtful discussions and improved understanding. Ultimately, I believe my main goal as a teacher is to help my students learn how to learn.

I earned my undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia, my Masters of Education degree from Berry College, and my Education Specialist degree from Lincoln Memorial University.
Besides teaching, I also coach volleyball and soccer for my school. During my time off, I enjoy spending time with my family. I love being outside participating in activities such as camping, kayaking, hiking, cycling, tennis, golf, etc. One of my favorite hobbies is photography.
