My teaching experience comes from the Elementary school years. I am a former 2nd Grade Teacher at Morikami Park Elementary IB World School- IB PYP Programme. I have 16 years of classroom teaching experience including Team Leader, New Teacher Mentor and Workshop Presenter on “Surviving Your First Year of Teaching”. My passion is global education for our younger people. That's why I'm proud to be a leading member of our team at TheIBLibrary.com. I love the IB educational philosophies and concepts, and believe that this type of learning should be available to children everywhere.
IB stands for “International Baccalaureate Organization”. Most of my focus has been on the PYP side. PYP stands for “Primary Years Programme”. It is the curriculum that is taught in Grades Pre-K through 5 or roughly the ages 3-11. The IB PYP encourages students across the world to become internationally-minded, active, compassionate and lifelong learners who strive to understand other people, their cultures and their part of the globe. All lessons and activities are inquiry based.
I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BAE from Florida Atlantic University with a Florida Teacher Certification grades 1-6 with ESOL Endorsement. I'm also the proud author of “My Primary Years Reflection Journal “- a specialized printed student journal that exhaustively conforms to IB pedagogy. http://thepypstudent.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/MyPrimaryYearsSchoolJournal.pdf
