A bit about me… I grew up in a rural town known as Alamo, GA where I graduated from Wheeler County High School. Shortly after I graduated, I attended Georgia College & State University where I completed a B.S. degree in the area of Interrelated Special Education. Upon completion of my bachelor’s degree, I went on to complete a master’s degree in General Education and a specialist degree in Educational Leadership at Cambridge College. Immediately following that journey, I attended Nova Southeastern University and achieved doctoral status in the area of Organizational Leadership. Currently, I am a Special Educator at Freedom Middle School in DeKalb County High where I teach all subjects in the resource and inclusive settings. For the last 11 years, I have served several students with many disabilities within this capacity. My educational experience has allowed me to implement several research based strategies within my classroom which is supported by the latest and most effective research in many different disciplines. I am the proud father of four beautiful children, Jordan, Kendall, Jackson, and Keegan, all who I love dearly. I am an ordinary down to earth individual who values education and puts God, Family, and Career first in that order. Concordia University is committed to creating a learning environment that meets the needs of its diverse student body. If you anticipate or experience any barriers to learning, please connect with Concordia University’s Disability and Learning Services Coordinator, Stephanie Staley at firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss and establish accommodations as needed. I look forward to interacting and corresponding with you on a variety of topics related to education. As I continue to grow as an educator and as a person, I look forward to learning from you as well as sharing my experiences and expertise in education over the next 5 weeks. With that said congratulations and good luck with all of your future endeavors. Thanks, Dr. Dondrea L. Geter
