I have been teaching in a public school for ten years. I taught first grade for six years and this is my fourth year in kindergarten. I have mentored first year teachers and student teachers.
My classroom approach is structured, but sensitive to the needs of my students. I am very organized and believe in routines. However, I believe that my students are individuals and education is not “one size fits all.” This may be intervention or enrichment in academics. I grow to care deeply about my students as if they were my own children. Children will be cared about and safe when they are at school. I believe in hands on experiences and relating everything to the world around us.
