TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Over the course of my career, I have taught every grade at the middle and high school levels (7th-12th) in both Michigan and Utah. I have taught both standard English/ELA courses at each grade level and a variety of electives (Speech, Yearbook, Character Education, and Study Skills). This is my 14th year in education and I still love every minute of it!

MY TEACHING STYLE

Some of my teaching inspirations come from Jim Burke, Cris Tovani, Teach Like a Champion, and Teaching with Love and Logic. My daily philosophy is that every kid can excel and should be held to a high standard. I like to use a variety of traditional and innovative assessments in rich units that follow the Understanding by Design/Backward Design format.
