This language pack is for the book "Pretzel" by Margret Rey. I like using this book in therapy for narrative retell because of the clear sequence of events and character reactions throughout the story. Plus, dog stories are always popular with kids.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am a Speech Language Pathologist working in the public schools. I currently work with secondary students.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I do therapy in the classroom, one on one, and in small groups. When I work on a language concept, I like to connect the concept to a picture book so that I am creating a context and theme and still working on narrative skills instead of just doing drill activities.

ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCCs)

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have an undergraduate degree in Sociology from the University of Washington. I received my postbac and Masters degrees in Speech Language Pathology from Western Washington University.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I live with my husband and my dog, Quincy (pictured).
