TEACHING EXPERIENCE

My undergraduate work was completed in the field of urban planning and political science, with a focus on public policy affecting urban communities. I began volunteering in classrooms in 2002 and pursued as Masters in TESOL in 2009. I began teaching full time as an ESL teacher in December of 2010. I have worked with both ESL students ranging in age from 4 to 60, but the majority of my teaching experience has been at the elementary level. In addition to my work as an ESL teacher, I am a core volunteer for Seedfolk City Farm which is a multi-site urban farm that engages youth through project-based learning. I serve as the organization's curriculum writer for their summer and after-school educational programs that explore themes from science, social studies, and the arts.
