TEACHING EXPERIENCE

My experience is as an 8th grade science teacher and instructional coach/leader with a focused skill set in project based learning, culturally responsive pedagogy, positive behavior intervention systems (including restorative justice practices), standards aligned instruction, data analysis, education technology (both classroom and systems level) and turnaround school change management. I served as the anchor teacher for the "Teach Like a Champion" pilot program in Houston, Texas and was an AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) science instructor.

MY TEACHING STYLE

"No Nonsense Nurturer" was my primary teaching style. My goal as an educator is to the strike the balance between high academic expectations and strong authentic relationships with students and families.

Recipient of the school based HAABSE Teacher of the Year Award Graduated Master's Program at Columbia University with Dean's Honors and concentration in entrepreneurship, design thinking, and improvement science

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I fundamentally believe in the power of public education to empower students to reach their potential. I attended k-12 public school and through the support of amazing teachers was able to attend my dream college of Wesleyan University. I just obtained my masters from Columbia University.
