I am extremely fortunate to have had a variety of teaching opportunities during my career. While living in Vancouver, Canada, I taught all subjects for grades 4-7 for 8 years. While living in Hawaii, I taught ESL for all ages, as well as 5th grade science, literature, and math. In San Diego, I taught resource in the school Learning Center.
Learning must be fun! I love making my lessons very hands-on, interactive, and engaging. Cooperative learning is key in my classroom. Students learn so much from each other when given the opportunity to work together. I want to ensure that my students are excited about their school day and learn content that is memorable. With my background in Special Education, I also find it important to create lessons that can be easily adaptable for any ability level.

After completing my English degree, I completed my Bachelor of Education with a minor in Curriculum Development. After 5 years of teaching, I decided to return to school to complete my diploma in Special Education.
In addition to being a teacher, I am a health and fitness enthusiast, a coffee lover, and a new mommy. :) Originally from Canada, I am now living with my husband and daughter in sunny San Diego.
