TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been a high school English teacher for ten years. Courses I have taught include American Literature, AP English Literature, Multicultural Literature, Public Speaking, and Drama.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I strive to make the classroom a fun place to learn, where our relationships with each other form a symbiotic whole-- a group that looks forward to meeting each day, whether it be to discuss a novel, analyze a poem, or give a presentation. No matter what we target, we do more and better because we are on the journey together.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

In August 2014 I received a double lung transplant which was necessitated by Cystic Fibrosis, a progressive genetic disorder which affects primarily the respiratory and digestive systems. After a year on the wait list and a year of recovery, I am elated to be returning to the classroom!
