TEACHING EXPERIENCE

After 20 years in education, I still enjoy teaching high school English. My positions have been in suburban Orange County California and the Boise, Idaho areas. I have team-taught Inclusion English, and wrestled through the AP Literature curriculum. Although most of my years have been in 9th and 11th grades, I currently teach 10th & 12th.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I prefer hands-ons opportunities for students to discover the ultimate truth, concept, or skill I intend to present. Time and experience have also demonstrated to me that a good lecture can get the job done too, although I refuse to do so unless I can be relevant, engaging, and foster personal growth in my students.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I have my Masters in Educational Administration, my National Board Certificate, and the reward of watching lives forever changed. I received a Teacher of the Year award in 2012 and have served as a graduation speaker and senior class adviser.
