5 years in the classroom.
I love to encourage independent thought and self-learning through hands-on activities. I enjoy asking my students questions instead of giving answers. This style promotes student growth but can be hard to pull off in large classroom settings or with topics that rely heavily on memorizing facts, such as history. I currently teach health education to middle school students. The curriculum adopted in my class focuses on different topics. The unit topics are health and wellness, hygiene, mental health, drugs and alcohol prevention, LGBTQ, healthy relationships, sexual assault prevention, and reproductive health. I also teach all my students about the BLACK LIVES MATTER movement.
