TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught inner city middle school students in english language arts and science classrooms for 22 years in Wisconsin. Since 1997, I have taught ELA and science classes in traditional settings, in addition to Title One, and Bridges programs for students with special needs. I also taught for 2 years in my school's Intervention center and was responsible for maintaining direct, focused, academic and behavioral interventions for 6-8th grade students facing challenges in traditional classrooms. I have teaching certifications for grades 1-8, (all subjects) grade 9 ELA specific, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. I also hold a Master of Science degree in Educational Technology.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I teach strategy first and content second. I apply heavy emphasis to relationship constructs that enable my students to meet educational demands through a trusting environment, high expectations, and scaffolded supports.
