I have been teaching First Grade in Wilmington City Schools for 12 years. I specialize in working with struggling readers and writers, as well as with students on IEP's in an inclusion classroom.
To maximize my students' learning, I strive to create active engagement through individualized and highly engaging multidisciplinary units and activities.
In 2011 I was one of 18 selected to participate in an Earth Expedition to Kenya through The Cincinnati Zoo, Project Dragonfly and Miami University. In 2012 I was one of 20 selected to participate in an Earth Expedition to Belize through The Cincinnati Zoo, Project Dragonfly, and Miami University.
Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education - University of Cincinnati 2005 Master of Science Education in Reading and Literacy Development - Walden University 2009 Additional Masters credit hours received through Miami University in Inquiry Based Learning 2011-2012. Ohio Writing Project training received in 2010 and 2011.
I am the proud mother of two daughters, ages 18 and 21.
