MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe in research based practice as well as authentic/engaging learning. I believe in classrooms where students feel loved and fall in love with learning. I care about kids - and don’t give up on them. I work to develop products that foster a love for literacy and that make learning engaging/approachable. I want students to be exposed not to contrived texts and worksheets, but to high quality literature and literacy work that provides a foundation for increased reading and writing skills, and also that inspire good.

I like things that are neat, organized, and pretty...and get excited about good coffee, pretty planners, and beautiful book covers. I believe that becoming lifelong learners and building self confidence and motivation in literacy will create a better future for kids.
