It is not about how quickly you can read, it is about what you can take away from the reading when you've finished.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Currently in my fourth year of teaching High School English. The past three years have been full of ups and downs, wins and losses, and numerous moments to learn and challenge my own teaching. The opportunities I have had are a blessing that I hope to share with other teachers. I want to take what I've learned and tried and allow you to be a better, more confident, happier teacher.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I love to scaffold learning so that students can approach new concepts in manageable chunks. I strive for student-centered activities and lessons that allow students to explore literary concepts and lead discussions. I believe that students hold so much power in their learning adventure and I am a guide on that journey.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

One of the most valuable moments in my teaching career thus far, was helping a student (who avoided reading for the previous eight months) find a book he liked that he read and couldn't stop telling me about.
