TEACHING EXPERIENCE

My experience is as an Early Childhood Educator. I taught for 14 years in Montessori schools in both California and Colorado in a both primary and kindergarten classrooms. I participated in numerous educational programs, conferences and trainings throughout my time as an educator. I also worked at a school for Gifted and Talented children. I also taught for many years an art class as a certified MonArt instructor - a way of teaching a more step-by-step and directional approach for young children to drawing and painting. I aided various student teachers while they were interned in my classrooms and as they worked towards getting their certification as Montessori teachers.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Teaching all of the academic disciplines (language arts, math, social studies and science) I like to create beautiful materials that are pleasing to a child's eye. Art uses all the senses and provides a hands-on approach to learning and developing personal awareness and expression of the entire personality. I believe in incorporating art into all the academic subjects sparks a child's imagination for all things about the world. As a teacher I have always provided children with beautiful materials to manipulate and create with their own hands, to stimulate their minds and imaginations through art.
