I am currently in my tenth year of teaching fourth grade and I adore it! I love my school and the community that surrounds it! I couldn't imagine teaching anywhere else! VISIT MY BLOG AT: http://theloyalteachershop.blogspot.com/
I am a very organized, patient, and passionate teacher. I am currently working on my masters degree in reading, so of course reading in the classroom is my passion. I started implementing the Daily 5 in my classroom a few years ago, but now combine it with a reading workshop rotation schedule, similar to my math workshop. I have a Promethean Board in my classroom and use it everyday in so many ways. I teach math using a math workshop style that includes small groups for differentiated instructions. I love researching new ideas and evolving as a teacher to do the best I can for my students.
I am honored to be working with kids everyday! That is an award in itself!
After graduating from high school, I attended a local community college were I earned my Associate of Arts Degree. I then transferred to the state university, where I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a minor in Developmental Reading. I am currently taking graduate classes, working towards a degree in Reading and Literacy Development.
I am a mother of two precious children who teach me something new every day! I am also a fourth grade teacher and I love it! I pinch myself everyday and think, "Am I really getting paid to work with these incredible kiddos?" Although I do love my job, I also enjoy my summers. I obsess over new teaching ideas, scrapbooking, paper crafts, and card making. I also enjoy snagging amazing ideas from people who are much more creative than me...
