I hold a Bachelor's degree in English from the College of William and Mary, and an M.Ed. from Vanderbilt's Peabody School of Education. I have taught in grades from 2nd-7th grade, in both affluent and Title 1 public schools, and in a variety of different private schools (Protestant, Classical Christian, Catholic) over the last five years. I currently teach at a Catholic School that runs from PreK 3 though 12th grade, where I am the sole middle school (6th and 7th grade) English Language Arts & Literature teacher.
Though I am highly organized and try to run a tight and efficient ship in the classroom, I really still feel as though I am a child at heart myself. I am often goofy, and I tend to err on the side of grace with my students. To compensate, I try to make sure that whatever we do in class is well-prepared, organized, and efficient. Particularly now, I have to teach all the reading, writing, grammar, literature, language, and vocabulary standards in just 48 minutes per day with my students.

I enjoy playing pranks on friends. I have a nerdy interest in history. I love war movies and historical dramas, and I despise chick flicks and romantic comedies. Ron Weasley, Flynn Rider, Lizzie Bennet, and Lorelai Gilmore are my fictional heroes. I hope to be a published novelist someday.
