I have been teaching at the elementary level (third & fourth grade) for eight years.
As we move through the 21st century, learning styles are changing. My classroom is an environment of collaboration with minimal whole group instruction. I am lucky enough to have one-to-one Chromebooks, so the majority of the time is spent in groups with student led, differentiated instruction.

The question of "What do you want to be when you grow up?" needs to be changed to, "What problem do you want to solve?" Many careers our students are going to compete for have not been thought of yet, so we as educators must develop critical thinking and problem solving skills in our students.
