I teach the old-fashioned way: with real books, pens, notebooks, and messy, disorganized discussion. Aside from taking attendance and the occasional review game, computers, phones, and tablets rarely make appearances in my classroom. I write on the white boards, I distribute handouts and worksheets, and my students take notes and comment on reading and writing by hand. My materials are mostly for English teachers who want to step away from technology and introduce some good old-fashioned paper products. You'll find printable assignments and rubrics, worksheets and handouts, strategies for note-taking, and close-reading exercises for poetry and prose. I hope you find something you can use!

When not hip-deep in grading, I enjoy playing bridge, singing, watching horror movies, and hosting board game parties with my husband and our friends.
