TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching in Baltimore City for seven years. I've spent four years teaching first grade, and I am now in my third year as a fifth-grade teacher. My husband and I run an in-home daycare in our home where we follow a Pre-K curriculum. I have experience tutoring adults in Spanish and ESL.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I incorporate a lot of technology into my lessons. I like to give my students time to grapple with the unknown instead of presenting them with ideas in traditional ways. I believe that teaching and learning should be fun and that everyone is good at something.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I earned my bachelor's degree at Salisbury University with a double major in Spanish and Business Economics in 2011. In 2012, I participated in a rigorous teaching program with TNTP-Baltimore and became a certified teacher in Elementary Education. I am currently pursuing an MS in Educational Studies at Johns Hopkins University - School of Education.
