I have taught High School Social Studies in New York for 21 years. I have taught Global History, AP US History, Psychology and Sociology throughout my career and have worked with a wide range of students and learning styles. I currently teach AP US History, World History 9 Regents and Co-taught, as well as an Academic Intervention Service class for test-prep and skill work.
I use a variety of strategies in the classroom. Students learn important reading and Cornell note-taking skills along with participating in class seminars, debates, and group activities. Class activities and projects offer options for students to interact with history in creative ways that reflect the New York State standards and work best for their learning style.
