Jacqueline Cassidy is an artist, business woman and Art Educator. Jacqueline is the founder, creator and spirit behind The Primary Kids®. Jacqueline, an Elementary & Middle School Art teacher, founded The Primary Kids® in 2009. While looking for children’s art storybooks that she could integrate into her classroom lessons, Jacqueline found an absence of well-written stories with interesting characters that were not only engaging but also educational. She took her love of art and passion for education to create a product that will inspire young creative minds. Jacqueline passion for art education for children also translates to the teachers that inspire the youngest artists. Her dedication has lead her to create lessons that teachers, home school teachers and creative parents can use with their children.
Jacqueline has taught elementary level art for 10 years and recently began teaching at the middle school level. Her teaching style is based on discipline based art education melding art history and culture, art aesthetics, art criticism and art making.
Along with being a full time teacher, Jacqueline is on the Executive Board of the Young Friends of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Board of the Young Supporters of the Clay Studio, and a former Board of Trustees member of the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America’s Philadelphia Chapter. Jacqueline has presented at the National Art Education Association’s national conference and has presented at the Pennsylvania Art Education Association’s annual conference.
Jacqueline earned her Masters of Science in Education (MSEd) from the University of Pennsylvania, her Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in Interior Design from Marywood University, her PA State Art Teacher Certification from Rosemont College and her Graduate Certificate in Business from Pennsylvania State University.
