TEACHING EXPERIENCE

For the past 8 years, I have been teaching multiage classes at a small inner-city charter school. Over the years, I have taught grades K/1, K/1/2 and 2/3. We do not have any set curriculum at our school which means that we create our own. It is a challenge, but worth every minute when you see the students making incredible gains! I love challenging my students and creating meaningful, differentiated work to meet their needs. I enjoy learning new things, and I love challenging myself to become a stronger, better educator.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I strongly believe that my role as a teacher is a facilitator to help children learn to the best of their ability. I am not the "all powerful knowledge holder" but am prepared to help educate each child in any way that best suits their needs. I strive to create life long learners that actually enjoy learning and being at school. I often learn just as much from my students (if not more), than they learn from me!
