I have taught grades 7-12 as a full time English/Language Arts Teacher. I also have substitute experience in grade PreK-12. I have spent that time writing curriculum to fit the various needs of these students. I continue to write curriculum in hopes that a full time classroom will once again come my way.
I'm one of those teachers who is actually really excited about the transition to Common Core Standards. Common Core was meant to assist students in thinking for themselves in able for them to function at their best in the real world. I believe that Common Core and the teaching of literature go hand in hand. I have currently began working on reading lesson plans for elementary students as well. My goal is to create collaborative unit plans where reading, social studies, and science are all intertwined.
