I love exceptional literature, I love great writing, and I love to teach both! I teach high school and middle school English, and manage to squeeze in just enough time to advise the yearbook team every year as well! After teaching in a homeschool academy classroom for over 20 years, I am now focused on empowering homeschool parents to teach their own students by providing great materials & complete courses ready-to-teach! I am excited about the possibility of these being used in small private schools as well.
I love leading discussions on literature, and that is a necessary part of any English class, but my favorite part of class are the projects which allow students to present what they are learning. Socratic seminars are awesome learning experiences for everyone! Corporate learning experiences are the Robin Hood of my classroom, taking the surplus from the verbally rich to share with the verbally impoverished.
The thank you notes and letters I get from my students are the very best honors I could ever receive!
I graduated magna cum laude from Cal State University, Northridge with a B.A. in English Lit. I also 'collect' classes! With a love of learning, I have begun degrees in Accounting, Math, History, and Nursing. Someday, I intend to finish each and every one of them!
After home educating my own three children all the way through high school, I am free to invest my energy in developing materials and courses to help others. I have authored several books, but my favorites are the At Papa's Knee series of children's devotional storybooks. You'll find me happily riding the E-ticket ride that is my life right here in Southern California with my husband and three college kids at home.
