TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I've taught for over ten years in several school systems in Massachusetts, and I specialize in string instrument pedagogy and teaching string instrument lessons and orchestra ensembles. I am currently teaching private and small group string lessons for several after school programs, which leaves me some time to refine and post materials that I have created over the years. I hope to save other teachers time and hassle by posting materials that I have spent a lot of time creating and were successful in my classroom. For more information about my teaching experiences, my LinkedIn profile can be found here: https://www.linkedin.com/in/joanna-launderville-6102a664/

MY TEACHING STYLE

I like to take a step back from method book work and do some activities that push students to reflect, self-assess, and assess the progress of their group. I also have created materials that teach background knowledge for the techniques that they are learning and the pieces they are performing. I am a very patient teacher that works hard to make sure to provide great resources for my students, whether they need information about shifting or where they can purchase a new bow.
