TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Began teaching K-5 music education in 1998.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Teaching is about connecting the known to the unknown. I always find ways to connect what my students already know, or can relate to, to what I am trying to teach them I believe that students learn best when they are actively involved. I create lessons that reach auditory, visual, and kinesthetic learners. Many times these styles are merged simultaneously within my lessons.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I have a very creative flare in my teaching style. I have always believed in hooking the known to the unknown. My ways are sometimes silly, but they stick. I am able to teach difficult concepts to the youngest of students by connecting with them. I am also a mother of a boy and girl and find that experience helps my connections with my students stronger.
