TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am a private tutor and homeschool co-op teacher working with all age children. My expertise is in English, Reading, & Writing, but I have also worked with students in social studies, history, literary history, and more. I especially enjoy working with students on improving their writing skills.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I like to SHOW students, rather than TELL, coming from my personal experience writing fiction. Although some things do require a degree of rote memorization, students learn best when they understand the reasoning behind a concept, such as how punctuation in a sentence should mimic normal human speech. I also like to get my students excited and genuinely interested in a work of literature or history, so I let them choose their reading lists (with guidance) and work with them.
