TEACHING EXPERIENCE

10 years in business and 19 years teaching students not just how to acquire knowledge, but how to discover, understand and apply it at deeper and more sophisticated and rigorous levels. This way they are taught how to succeed in the real world, versus just on paper tests.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Sophisticated Montessori/Socratic approach where the students are not told what things are and how to do things (memorization) but how to discover knowledge through inquiry and problem solve through the application of gained knowledge.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Unbelievable student growth in academic ability, self-confidence, inner happiness, and the ability to think like Voltaire, Socrates, Einstein, da Vinci, and Myamoto Musashi, among many of the other greatest thinkers of all time.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

B.S.B.A in Business Management K-12 Education K-12ESOL certification

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

Dream Big, Do Big, Be Big ~ and Find the Hero in You! Passionate teacher and author loving my students' potential into being one day at a time. I am a former businessman and current 19-year veteran teacher of multiple grades (2nd through 12th). I presently teach 2nd grade at Cypress Park Elementary in Orlando, Florida and am very happy. I love to travel and then come back home with big ideas on how to make my lessons not only meaningful but fun, exciting and adventurous. My students often achieve their highest growth ever on the state tests and then continue to excel in higher-level classes in middle and high school. More importantly, they do this because they have been taught how to think versus memorize :-) Inspired by a recent trip to Italy where I saw the gigantic wall mural of Raphael's School of Athens I have developed a series of lessons called The School of Athens ~ Mind Adventures.
