The bulk of my full-time experience as a teacher has been spent with students in grades 7-8. That said, however, I have experience teaching students from 1st grade all the way through 9th!
Never work harder than your students!! I believe it is important for students to be exposed to a curriculum that challenges their thinking. I also believe that what we work on in the classroom should be relevant to what students face outside of the classroom. I am a fighter for educational equity and work hard to create a classroom that is culturally relevant and addresses the needs of learners from diverse backgrounds. I love technology and have been fortunate to work at schools that have access to technology for the students to use. I also believe that students should be exposed to inquiry and hands-on learning as much as possible.

BA from Emory University (Atlanta) in Philosophy. M.Ed. from University of Nevada, Las Vegas in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Secondary Science.
I'm an inquisitive, energetic, 20-something Georgia girl who is currently living in Las Vegas. I love life and asking questions...but that's a given, I study philosophy and science! Before getting into eduction, I worked at Emory University Hospital for 4 years, where I was able to really submerge myself in hands-on learning and probing the minds of some of the greatest thinkers/doers in my two favorite fields. I have had several opportunities that have influenced my teaching style including: the opportunity to be a student of President Jimmy Carter - he taught one of my classes at Emory University (science writing in journalism) & the opportunity to attend several talks by His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama also while at Emory. I believe in sweat (hard work), love, and the power of gratitude. I love my family, my friends, my students, music, art, theater, science, and (vegan) food! Thank you for taking the time to visit my store and read a little bit about me! I appreciate you!
