TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have 13 years of teaching experience at the High School level. I have taught Local, Regents, Honors and Standard Level International Baccalaureate Chemistry to 10th, 11th and 12th graders. I have also taught Chemistry to students in the alternative education program.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe in making Chemistry as fun and relatable as possible. Oftentimes, students approach Chemistry with angst and anxiety. I try to incorporate as many demonstrations, analogies and visuals as possible to make learning fun, help students understand the concepts, and display the relevance to their lives.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I have received Staff Member of the Month and multiple Principal Recognitions.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and General Education from State University of New York at Geneseo. I received my first teaching position right after graduation. While I was teaching, I received a Masters in Education from Nazareth College.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

In addition to creating fun and meaningful lessons for students, I am a mom to an 8 year old boy and 6 year old girl. My husband and I enjoy spending as much time with them as possible. They keep us busy and make us laugh!
