I am in my nineteenth year of teaching, and I currently teach Spanish 1, 2, theatre, and a class about Narnia (yay!).
I model an enthusiastic approach to teaching while endeavouring to create lessons that impart information in a way where students will become enthusiastic and successfully grasp the experience. I keep my brainchild, an “REM” lesson philosophy (relevant, effective, meaningful) in mind as I aspire with each lesson to create enthusiasm and encourage them to be engaged while similar to physical REM, there is rapid movement going on while they aren’t even aware! It’s wonderful to see a child suddenly fall in love with the subject (especially if it's Jesus)! I believe in setting high standards while providing a positive and constructive response or advice. I recognize that every student has different gifts and abilities, and I encourage each student’s success. I give it my all to remain flexible, open to change, help students feel that THEY MATTER and communicate successfully with their parents to let them sense a partnership with me in the education of their child. I want them to feel safe in my class and in a productive and collaborative learning environment.
