TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I've taught 6th and 8th grade Social Studies at all levels of students. I have lessons that have been differentiated for team-taught through gifted classrooms. This is my first year teaching 8th grade Georgia Studies, but it has been exhilarating and stimulating to have the chance to create lessons for this new curriculum!

MY TEACHING STYLE

I like to try new and different things. My main goal is that my students are actively engaged and participating during my lessons. I think that my teaching style in unconventional and I'm always willing to take risks in the classroom.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

In my second year teaching, I wasreceived the "Teacher of Today 2013" Masonic Fraternity of Oklahoma award for excellence in instruction and relationship building with my students. In my fifth year teaching, I was nominated as a final-four finalist for "Teacher of the Year" at Taylor Road Middle School!

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I graduated with a B.A. in History and a B.A. in International Affairs from the University of Georgia in 2011. GO DAWGS!
