Began teaching in the New York City School system in 2000 where I taught English Language Arts, Social Studies, and Health. During my three years at the Lenox Academy, I had the pleasure of being the Balanced Literacy Liaison for my School. In 2004, I moved over to the Robert Frost Middle School in Deer Park, New York, where I have taught 7th and 8th grade Social Studies. During my tenure at Robert Frost Middle School, I have been a Mentor Coordinator for the District, a mentor for first-year teachers, and a Teacher Leader for the 8th grade Social Studies Department.
My teaching style is very dynamic. I incorporate a variety of primary and secondary sources into my lesson plans. For the last three years, I have been fortunate to have readily available access to a mobile laptop cart. With easy access to technology, I have become well versed in a variety of education apps particularly google apps for education, quizelt, quizalize, brainscape, and peardeck.
