The Southern Teach

I started my teaching career in 2014 after graduating with a Master's degree in Elementary Education. Over the past 8 years I have taught Kindergarten, 3rd, and 5th grade, with a focus in ELA and Social Studies. In my time as an educator, I have taught a variety of learners, including Gifted and Talented, English as a Second Language, 504, SPED, and at-risk students. I continually strive to meet the needs of all of my learners through a variety of research-based strategies.

In my classroom, I believe that relationships come before rigor!

I believe in building a positive and safe classroom community where students feel heard, accepted, and appreciated is integral to a successful learning environment. I also love to have fun and incorporate engaging activities and projects that students enjoy. Additionally, I love to utilize technology and digital activities into instruction as much as possible.
