TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am a respected Middle School English teacher - and the Language Arts Specialist - at a highly-regarded private school in Southern California. Many of my former students have gone on to become recognized writers in high school and at their universities. Three of my students have written juvenile novels for NaNoWriMo - under my guidance - and been featured in our local paper. I have created and taught my own original Writing curriculum for fifteen years, to great success. Additionally, I recently completed the world-famous Writing Lab at The Groundlings, and believe this honor reflects the importance of improvisation and spontaneity ("responsiveness") in the classroom. I love the energy in a successful classroom!

I run a highly structured, dynamic, and engaging classroom. I believe in clear parameters, student connections, and a sense of fun and spontaneity. I am considered a "strict-but-fun" teacher, and I believe my popularity stems from this essential balance. Students thrive in an environment where expectations are clear, and they are fully engaged.
