TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I've been a speech therapist specializing in autism and related disorders for fifteen years. Over the years I've studied a variety of programs to address social skills and combined them in my work. I love learning about how children develop empathy, social motivation, and perspective taking, and I love making new materials for these skills! In addition, I focus a lot on articulation / apraxia; early childhood language; and language processing skills. I am new to TeachersPayTeachers and will be adding new content as time allows over the next few months!

MY TEACHING STYLE

If I had to sum up my style in one word it would be - flexible! I work with students and clients of all ages and language levels, from birth to three programs to adult vocational programs and everything in between! Over the years I have developed a strong appreciation for how many different hats teachers and therapists need to wear when working with diverse populations, and I enjoy creating materials for a wide range of learners.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I am a state and ASHA certified SLP, and recently presented a poster project at ASHA addressing new research in the field of social learning.
