I believe in hands-on learning. In my opinion, when a child engages in a multi-sensory experience, it just makes more sense to them and they grasp the concept much better.
I am a certified basic DIR Floortime provider. It is a play-based model that focuses on functional emotional developmental capacities of the students. It takes each student's individual differences into consideration and values building deeper relationships and meaningful communication rather than just adjusting observable behavior. It works especially with the ones on the autism spectrum. I enjoy using the Floortime principles while working with my students.
