TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been working in the education field for more than 20 years, starting with preschool children in El Paso, TX. I moved to Dallas to complete my schooling and have been teaching in the public school system for 17 years as a bilingual teacher. I have taught all core areas in grades K through 8th.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I enjoy hands-on, kinesthetic teaching. I like to have my students out of their seats, using manipulatives, movement or even singing. I like providing plenty of visuals by creating colorful anchor charts and showing videos such as Brainpop, Study Jams or Youtube. In addition, I employ a strict but loving learning environment. I teach and lead my students to do open activities, making them responsible for their learning while learning how to run a positive classroom environment. They know I have high expectations. I hold them accountable, and they always rise to my level of expectations.

I have aspirations of becoming an author for children, owning my own business, traveling the world, learning a third language and martial arts.
