TEACHING EXPERIENCE

This author has over 16 years of experience working in elementary, middle and high schools as well as a community college. "Sunny Sunshine" has experience with: college and career readiness, mental health interventions, counseling, crisis intervention, functional behavior assessments and behavior intervention plans, and staff professional development. In addition, "Sunny" and was a presenter for a statewide conference speaking on Crisis Intervention and Behavior Management Strategies. In addition to owning The Sunny Sunshine Student Support Store, "Sunny" is a published author of a book on school based behavior and mental health resources, children's story books and numerous articles relating to behavior, mental health and crisis intervention.

MY TEACHING STYLE

This author's teaching style is driven by integrating real life examples into the classroom and is reality based. This author combines psychoeducational content with cognitive–behavioral / problem-solving models to help student and staff skill development. This author believes in the use of visual aids (such as PowerPoint or posters) to engage students in content and offers a light-hearted, creative, interactive and fun environment!
