I have been teaching for 23 years. My experience includes Kindergarten, 2nd Grade, 5th Grade, 7th Grade, 8th Grade, 9th Grade, Curriculum Facilitator, Assistant Principal (MS), Teaching &; Learning Coach (mentor for beginning teachers), and Teacher Cadet Instructor. Although I enjoyed holding positions outside of the classroom for a brief period, nothing excites me more than working directly with students. I am excited that I am now a Lead ELA teacher with my district; a position that allows me to stay in the classroom and also be a part of a district curriculum & instruction leadership team to provide PD and support services for K-12.
I believe that students learn by doing. I provide opportunities that promote cooperative learning with individual and group accountability. I use a fair amount of technology and a wide range of programs that allow me to bring digital learning opportunities to my students. Students are also allowed to bring their own devices. I love work stations and hands on activities to enhance the learning process. I believe learning can take place anywhere and everywhere, so we are not limited to our classroom space.

I am a Christian wife and mother of three. I enjoy watching sporting events and spending time with family. I love to organize events and create curriculum materials, so being a part of TPT is a great hobby for me.
