TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I teach in a public elementary school in Northern Colorado: first, second, and third grades.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My philosophy is rooted in constructivism and critical literacy; in practice this looks like active workshops where communication and exploration are encouraged.

I am a member of CCIRA (Colorado Council International Reading Association), and the Colorado Reading Journal Editorial Review Board.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

From the University of Northern Colorado I earned an MA in Reading in 2013 and an Elementary Education Certificate in 2009. From Colorado State University I earned an MFA in Creative Writing in 2004, and from George Mason University a BA in English in 1999.
