I have been an educator for the last 20 years.
It is my own personal determination each school year through empathy, encouragement, procedural structures in place, and good behavioral discipline management to help students dream big and to open their minds to their own likes and dislikes, strengths and weaknesses so that they can find their passions in life and set academic paths to achieve them. I secretly wish that I could teach a 2nd grade class and every year after that through 8th grade in the ELA-Reading area. It is that desire that will shape my products on Teachers Pay Teachers because I believe it is important to work alongside teachers so that they too can remember their voice and who they are and how we can best help the next generation. Teachers ROCK!
Nominated two times for Who's Who Among America's Teachers. Recommended multiple times by administrators and consultant for administrative programs at either the district or university level and showcased via recorded video as exemplifying great teaching practices with my students of all demographic backgrounds.
I always played school with my cousins during my elementary years and I loved it. It wasn't until my junior year in high school that I tapped into a couple of my strengths - that of being empathetic and tenacious - and I realized my desire to work with students was where I needed to be, thus, I joined Future Teachers of America that school year and once I graduated high school, I attended a university and earned my undergraduate degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Master of Ed. in Administration and Principalship.
On a personal note, I love life and I relish the spirit of hope, tenacity, and big dreams. With regard to my professional career, I do enjoy learning new pedagogy and observing academic trends and their validity for the improvement of the whole learner. Furthermore, professionally speaking, I don't like wasting time and do believe that teacher meetings should be streamlined so as to not waste a teacher's valuable time after school.
